Assessing the distribution, and the threat of hunting to the African golden cat at Afadjato and Agumatsa Conservation Area, Ghana
The overall objective of the project is to provide baseline information on the current distribution stats of the African Golden Cat (AGC) in the Afadjato-Agumatsa Community Conservation Area (AAGCA) towards the establishing a cconservation program to mitigate the hunting of wildlife species. Specifically, the project will: 1. Assess the distribution (occupancy) of the AGC in the area, providing a baseline for long-term monitoring of the species population status. 2. Assess the level of hunting and its impacts on the AGC in AACA 3. Raise awareness on the conservation of the AGC and identify interventions to stop hunting. 4. Identify and train ten people; five local hunters and five members of the general local community as conservation stewards against hunting in AACA.
