The Cemetery Treefrog: Does He Only Live Next to His Final Resting Place? Threats and conservation of Dendropsophus nekronastes
The main goals of this project are: i) to map the occurrence sites for Dendropsophus nekronastes at its type locality and search for new populations in the neighboring municipalities using visual and auditory active search methods ; ii) to monitor the known populations, as well as those newly discovered during the course of this project, through passive acoustic monitoring; iii) gathering basic knowledge on the ecological requirements, behavior (e.g., reproductive behavior, oviposition site, phenology, abundance, habitat use), and the possible threats to the encountered populations; iv) conducting outreach activities for local farmers and students to encourage collaboration in the conservation of the target species' habitat.
