Establishing a community based conservation program to mitigate threats to the African Golden Cat at Minziro Nature Forest Reserve
1. To establish a community based tree nursery beds of locally suggested and preferred fuel wood species in four front line villages namely Minziro, Karagala, Kigazi, Karagala and Kakindo; 2. To establish a community based livestock seedbank particularly for goats and pigs; and 3. Create community based conservation groups to spearhead the conservation of the AGC through behavioral change and creating social pressure against charcoal burning, firewood collection and bushmeat hunting.
