Mitigating Poaching of African Golden Cat in Ongo Community Forest through livestock Seed Banks and Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations

1. To establish local anti-poaching groups to reduce bushmeat hunting by introducing livestock seed banks, providing a sustainable source of animal protein and income for the community. 2. To enhance family income through Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to support sustainable livelihood alternatives, empowering communities to invest in sustainable ventures. This aims to provide economic stability, reducing the reliance on bushmeat hunting. 3. To support community wildlife protection committees to regularly remove snares from the forest and monitor the effectiveness of livelihood projects in reducing bushmeat hunting. This objective aims to decrease poaching activities threatening the African golden cat in the Ongo Community Forest Reserve.
