Buchanania barberi (Anacardiaceae) is a Critically Endangered evergreen tree, endemic to the Southern Western Ghats of Kerala, India. The species is on the verge of extinction and remaining with two adult individuals. The project aims to develop baseline data, store seeds, germinate seeds, produce seedlings, their transplant and develop environment education campaign. The information generated will help to develop the conservation action plan.

The Parana Pine (Araucaria angustifolia) is a critically endangered species of conifer that occurs in southern Brazil. Araucaria has a history of use in past and current South American societies, as its seeds were/ are an important source of food and income. This project aims to understand how land use and management affect population dynamics of Araucaria in the highlands of southern Brazil.

Agave grisea is an endemic species of the coastal sector Caletón de Don Bruno, Cienfuegos. It is categorized as Critically Endangered due to the reduction of its occupation area, low quality of habitat and continuous decrease of mature individuals. We will study the distribution, population structure, ecology and reproductive biology focused on pollination to know the implication of these aspects in survival and conservation status.

Conserving Guinea’s Critically Endangered National Flower Vernonia djalonensis. This Critically Endangered endemic species was chosen in a national vote as Guinean National Flower. It is currently only known from one site which is threatened by urbanisation and industrial infrastructure. We aim to create awareness of this species and the importance of the unique Guinean flora and protect the National Flower for future generations.
