Species Inventory and Conservation Initiatives of Bumble bees (Genus- Bombus) In Manang District, Nepal
Only 34 species of Genus Bombus have been published from Nepal (Williams et al., 2010) but no listing from Manang region even there is great topographic variation that creating rich diversity of flowering plants that has high possibility of many species Bumble bees (genus Bombus). The natural habitats of Manang district is largely destroyed by different anthropogenic activities. Therefore, the documenting and conserving of this high altitude important pollinator is urgently needed for the maintenance of biodiversity and also to enhance the yielding of high altitude pollinating crops of this region. This study focus on species inventory, identify the responsible conservation threats and conduct conservation program.
