Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation (Project No. 160513635) - Sandy mole rat - Awarded $1,990 on October 12, 2016

A sandy mole rat (Spalax arenarius) is an Endangered small mammals with very small restricted species distribution. It is a fossorial species and very rarely it may be seen above the ground. With the help of MBZ we make a survey of the species recording dozens of active localities, found many isolated previosly unknown populations. At the other hand we found that vast areas in the speciesextant of occurence is not inhabitat by mole rats.
