Adding pieces to the pampas cat conservation puzzle: collaborating with schools and producers to protect an Uruguayan pampas cat population

 

 

• Camera trap monitoring to detect the Uruguayan pampas cat in central Uruguay.
• School workshops to promote cultural appreciation of the Uruguayan pampas cat.
• Engage community members in camera trap monitoring to strengthen their interest in and care for the Uruguayan pampas cat.
• Promote conservation strategies for the pampas cat within a productive landscape, such as exclusion zones with native vegetation, predator-proof chicken coops, and dog management.
• Strengthen collaborative efforts in monitoring and conserving the pampas cat between initiatives in Brazil and Uruguay.
