Distribution, Ecology and Conservation status of two endemic giant millipedes (Diplopoda: Spirobolida; Spirostreptida) in Cameroon rainforest.

In order to assess the threats on giant millipedes and to prepare an effective management plan that will help to reduce or stop anthropogenic pressure on their habitat, it is important to monitor the trend of their distribution in regard to the anthropic impact on the vegetation. This study will highly contribute to the conservation of threatened Cameroonian millipedes in general and the Cameroon giant endemics in particular The study has the following specific objectives: - Identify the status and repartition of the target threatened and endemic species; - Identify the most important and threatened habitat of these species - obtain new data on the ecology and habitat use of each millipede species; - develop conservation measures that could be implemented to conserve these threatened species and their habitats
