The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund has awarded 1000 grants for this species type, constituting a total donation of $9,805,705.
The oncilla or tigrina is a rare small wild cat listed as vulnerable by the IUCN Red List, and as endangered by the Costa Rican environmental authorities. In this project we will define priority areas for the conservation of oncilla at the time we will also assess the conservation status of this probably unique species endemic to the highlands of Costa Rica and Panama.

African golden cats are severely threatened by poaching both as bycatch and direct hunting. We implement community-based initiatives through "pig seed banks" to improve local livelihoods while dissuading poaching and the threat it poses to African golden cats and other wildlife. This is the first-ever community-based conservation initiative on the African golden cat anywhere in the species range.
