The species Prionailurus planiceps is a unique wild cat species inhabiting riparian and watery habitats in Sarawak. The species was fully protected in Sarawak however, to date, not a single individual images ever recorded by the Sarawak Forest Department. No study ever carried out make no data can be used as references for the species in the state. Data collected from local and hunters shown that the species occurred in several locations of the state.
