 The species Prionailurus planiceps is a unique wild cat species inhabiting riparian and watery habitats in Sarawak. The P. planiceps project is part of the Sarawak Wild Cat’s project and will be started by next year (2015). The species was fully protected in Sarawak however, to date, not a single individual images ever recorded by the Sarawak Forest Department. No study ever carried out make no data can be used as references for the species in the state. Data collected from local and hunters shown that the species occurred in several locations of the state. Thus, for the beginning we will focus particularly on their distribution and habitats. Night survey and camera traps will be used as our main methods in this study.
